Best Sugar Cookie
Easy SUGAR
COOKIE RECIPE
Preheat oven to 350F Yield depends on size of cookie cutters.
Ingredients Vanilla version Chocolate
version
Salted butter 1 cup 1 cup + 1 tbsp
Sugar 1 cup 1 cup
1 egg 1
1
Vanilla 2 tsp ½
tsp + 1 Tbsp strong coffee
Baking powder 2 tsp 1
tsp baking powder + ½ tsp baking soda
Flour 3 cups 2 1/4 cup Flour and 3/4 cup cocoa
Semi-sweet Chocolate 2 sq semi sweet melted choc
Directions
1. Cream
the butter and sugar until it is completely mixed. Do not over-mix.
2. Add vanilla
and eggs and mix until completely incorporated. If chocolate version add 1 tbsp
strong coffee and melted 2 sq chocolate.
3. Add Baking
Powder and mix. If chocolate add the baking soda.
4. Mix in the
flour two cups at a time. (If choc include the cocoa to flour).
5. Do not
chill the dough; the cookies will bake better if the dough is at room
temperature.
6. Roll a
handful of the dough out on a prepared surface until it’s about 3/8″ thick
and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
7. Bake at 350
degrees for 6-8 minutes depending on the size of the cookie. Do not
over-bake, edges should be slightly
brown.
